Exploring Your Unique Path of Wellbeing

Stress occurs in the gap between your lived reality and how you want your world to be.  So, if you feel that you are stuck in a particular area of your health, and you are struggling to find some emotional peace, you could very well be encountering a conflict between your beliefs, desires, and experiencing the world as it actually is. Even if you are not consciously aware of what the problem is right now.

On a personal level, this is not a process which is always easy, especially where there are intense issues to be addressed - like moving beyond trauma, or loss, or living with chronic illness or disability.  However, great upheaval is often a pre-cursor to deep transformation...  It's important to realise that whilst it can be difficult to see the potential benefits at the time you are going through it, when you do get to the other side, you can see difficult life events as a blessing.

As with other aspects of life, there are a multitude of different opinions about what is the best route to wellbeing. Often these opinions lie in opposition to each other, but we don't really understand this, so we are left with a deep sense of unease and dissatisfaction.  The solution lies in exploring our own philosophy for wellbeing, so that we finally get the clarity we are looking for.

For genuine wisdom seekers, there are additional obstacles on the path of personal growth.  It is fairly common to reach a point in life where you need to move beyond regular psychotherapy or self-help techniques, and to explore life on a deeper, existential level. To reflect on the fundamental nature of wellbeing and how it is impacted not just by yourself as an individual, but by all the other external and existential factors too.

  • How do cultural beliefs impact healthcare?
  • Should you always seek out happiness over pain?
  • To what extent can you influence your own health?
  • Why are some therapies accepted and others are not?
  • Where do emotions come from?
  • How does your worldview impact your approach to health?
